Practice Management

We have supported most of the major Practice Management Systems available today.  Whether you need help administering your system or finding the right one for your firm, we have you covered.

Ryan started using Aderant at his first Legal Tech job back in 2007.  His career has since been defined by helping attorneys and staff stay savvy with systems, frameworks, and capabilities in an ever changing legal tech landscape.

At ILTACON 2023 Ryan learned that the legal technology of big firms was not always available to small firms and solo practitioners, and that many of the legal technologies small firms use were used almost exclusively by small firms.

Over the next several months Ryan explored the technology divide between small firms and large firms.  He found that it went beyond the applications installed on firm computers.  It was represented by what conferences and events attorneys and technology vendors went to.  The subjects of CLE classes that attorneys took through their associations.  It both reflected and contributed to the a2j gap.

With a drive to contribute to closing that gap, Ryan launched CIO.LEGAL with a commitment to bring big firm technology lessons and perspectives to solo and small firm operations.  These firms represent the majority of practicing attorneys today, and every operational efficiency we can improve and legal tech capability we can unlock for their firms allows them to work more active matters and improve outcomes for their clients.

CIO.LEGAL is a Clio Certified Consultant!

A lot of the major Practice Management Systems require firms to sign a contract with an annual commitment.  Clio is one of the few that allows for a month-to-month commitment at an affordable rate that makes it accessible for most solos.  This was a major factor that contributed to CIO.LEGAL's decision to partner with Clio in 2024.

Clio is primarily designed to help firms track their time, bill their clients, and collect on their invoices.  Clio Manage supports trust accounting, contingency fees, settlements, legal aide grants, flat fees, and much more, making it one of the most versatile Practice Management systems available on the market today.

Since its original launch, Clio has developed several add-ins and modules to assist firms with filing forms, drafting documents, accounting, client intake, relationship management, and much more.
